Mission Statement

ABringing History to Life@

The 1916 Carroll County Courthouse, designed by Albert H. Dow, Sr., was a replacement for the earlier, nineteenth century wooden structure, which burned in 1915.  It was deeded to the Ossipee Historical Society in 2005.

The Society's Mission for the Courthouse is:

To open the building to the public as a museum of Ossipee and Carroll County history:

To protect the architectural integrity of the building;

To preserve the courtroom for its story of the legal history of Carroll County;

To provide a meeting place for community and cultural activities;

To establish a research center for the history of Carroll County.
